PJ, or Philip as his mother originally named him, came to the world of mobile food solutions almost accidently. Currently serving as the President and fellow co-owner of the organization, PJ started his career as an in-house account within the manufacturing sector – quickly rising to CFO at a second-tier defense contractor and later a high-end architectural lighting solutions provider. It was during his last CFO role -that PJ felt a desire to have more autonomy and had always wanted to run his own business. Cut to a chance lunchroom conversation between Lisa (PJ’s wife) and Debbie (Jamie’s wife) and the concept, became an idea, the idea became a reality.
While Jamie handles the Operations and Production side of the business, PJ is responsible for the front end: his general duties include generating all quotations for RFP’s, fielding 24/7 customer service calls, handling all customer inquiries: new and existing, developing a marketing strategy and social media initiative, the day-to-day accounting tasks that come with running your own business – and when he’s feeling adventurous – HR!
One of the most unique aspects of JP Food Trucks is the way in which we deliver a quotation. Every quotation is generated by a conversation in which PJ and the client review all known aspects of the project and allow for the unknowable. PJ then creates a quotation BOM (Bill of Materials) based on space considerations brought forth laying out the equipment, purpose and budget. This BOM becomes part of a larger quotation document which is typically 32 pages in length. While a 32-page quotation may seem intimidating – it allows for PJ to provide the client with a total and transparent understanding of the work that will be done and the selected purchased components. For PJ, it’s critical to work with his client in a transparent and straight forward manner. That way they can be assured that the money they spend on their mobile food solution will have a long and continuous ROI for decades.
