Project Type: Produce Truck
When Pam Farrell, Executive Director from Grow Community Food Literacy Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada approached us, she was seeking a supplier who was interested in converting a fully electric Brightdrop EV600 Van into the Grow on the Go Mobile Market veggie truck to serve the food deserts in the Niagara Falls, Canada area.
While this was our first experience with a fully electric vehicle, the build did not differ much from a traditional mobile market build made from similar style box trucks sold in the US. As part of the build, we focused on maximizing the display area by building custom fabricated “trays” to hold the produce baskets securely and tilted the display area in a way that was easy for the Grow employees to fill the baskets while making it equally easy for the customers to reach all the different types of produce the mobile market offered. In addition, we added various styles of wire racks across the back wall for bulky items (such as potatoes) as well as additional storage under the tilted display area. The goal was to store as much produce as possible and serve as many people as possible on a single trip! In late November, the official launch of the Grow on the Go Mobile Market occurred in Niagara Fall, Ontario! We are very pleased to be part of serving the Niagara Falls, Ontario community!
We look forward to working with you!
